The FIA – motorsport’s governing body – will formally recognise Envision Racing as Formula E’s Season 9 world champions at a star-studded event in Baku on December 8.
The end-0f-season Prize Giving ceremony is the traditional opportunity for the FIA to recognise winning drivers and teams in all its world championship disciplines, bringing together athletes from all of the FIA’s categories, celebrating their achievements over the last 12 months, and ‘officially’ crowning the various champions.
The Prize Giving ceremony is scheduled to start at 20:00 CET – and will be streamed live on the FIA’s YouTube channel.
Managing Director and CTO, Sylvain Filippi, is expected to attend the event on behalf of the team; with drivers Jake Dennis, Nick Cassidy and Mitch Evans also expected to be recognised for their respective individual achievements across 2023.
Envision Racing are the reigning Formula E world champions, having clinched the Teams’ Championship for the first time in its history in Season 9.
Victory in the final race of the season in London helped clinch the title for the Silverstone-based team – adding to a record-breaking year that saw the team win four races, clinch a further five podiums, notch three pole positions and finish with a team record total of 304 points.
Sebastien Buemi and Robin Frijns will drive for the team as it looks to defend its title across Season 10.
