Meet Tom Leonard Blomqvist
Tom Leonard Blomqvist (born 30 November 1993) is a New Zealand-based, British-born Swedish professional racing driver, and BMW Motorsport works driver, currently racing in the 2022 IMSA SportsCar Championship with Meyer Shank Racing.
Blomqvist won the 2022 24 Hours of Daytona with Meyer Shank. He participated in the 2017–18 Formula E season with the MS&AD Andretti team. Blomqvist returned to the Formula E paddock for the 2019 Berlin ePrix, where he acted as a TV pundit, in place of the regular Dario Franchitti, who was attending the 2019 Indy 500.
For the 2020–21 Formula E World Championship, Blomqvist was given a seat at the NIO 333 FE Team . The 2017–18 FIA Formula E Championship (known for commercial reasons as the 2017–18 ABB FIA Formula E Championship) was the fourth season of the F d ration Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) Formula.
From Tom’s success and experience, he is a great addition to the Envision Racing team as the official Reserve Driver for Season 8. He will be working with the team at the track and on the sim to help develop and understand the car and be prepared if he is needed to step in to race.
