About the race
Filled with skyscrapers, street markets, palaces, and temples, Seoul is a buzzing hub of energy and enterprise mixed with tradition and serenity. In just 50 years it has grown to one of the world’s most modern and vibrant megacities – often known as the ’24-hour city’ – and one of the hottest tourist destinations in Asia. While Seoul’s main draw is experiencing this contrast of energy and tranquillity, the city is also full of excellent food, interesting arts and crafts, and has a number of impressive historic sites. As a new location for Formula E, the circuit will be an unknown for all 24 drivers and 12 teams, along with factors such as hot and humid conditions to contend with. Wrapping around the city’s Olympic Park, the bespoke city street circuit will take in some of Seoul’s best-known sights, with seven turns housed inside the Jamsil Sports Complex and former Olympic stadium.
