Maximilian Günther signs for Paysafe Envision Formula E Team for Season 13 and beyond
- German Formula E ace, Günther, has signed a multi-year contract with Paysafe Envision Formula E Team
- The 29-year-old has amassed seven wins, 12 podiums and four pole positions in his Formula E career to date
- Günther forms part of new line-up for the GEN4 era for Paysafe Envision Formula E Team
Silverstone, 14th September: Paysafe Envision Formula E Team today has announced that Maximilian Günther will join the team from Season 13 and beyond. Günther joins as Paysafe Envision continue to build preparations for the GEN4 era which kicks off for pre-season testing at the Circuit del Jarama on November 16-20.
Günther has enjoyed plenty of success during his eight seasons in Formula E to date, becoming the youngest ever winner in the sport (at the time) during the Santiago E-Prix in 2020, and going on to take a further six wins to add to his name to date.
Born in Oberstdorf, the 29-year-old began his racing career in go karts at the age of 10 – progressing into open wheel racing in 2011. The German ace took the runners-up honours in FIA Formula 3 European Championship in 2016, followed by third place overall the following season, before stepping into FIA Formula 2.
Günther got his first taste of Formula E during the 2018 rookie test in Marrakesh, which earned him a spot as a reserve driver – getting his first chance to step up to the race seat during the 2018 Ad Diriyah E-Prix.
His first win came during his second season in Formula E, during the 2020 Santiago E-Prix, and in doing so, became the youngest ever race winner at 22 years old – a record he held for six years.
Günther also took the honours of winning Formula E’s debut Pit Boost race during the Season 11 Jeddah E-Prix, taking the victory with a bold last lap overtake.

Season 13 officially begins in November for pre-season testing, before the busiest Formula E calendar kicks off in December in Jeddah.
