Jack Aitken to take part in Rookie Session in Misano

Jack Aitken will drive for Envision Racing in the upcoming Misano Rookie Session.

Envision Racing is pleased to announce Jack Aitken will be joining the team for the rookie session in Misano during Round 6 & 7 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

Aitken, 28, had his first experience of Formula E last season, where he took part in the Berlin rookie test day and the rookie practice session in Rome for Envision Racing.

The rookie session in Misano will take place on Friday 12th April, as an FP0 session before the race weekend commences.

“I’m looking forward to another outing with Envision, this time at Misano, a much more traditional circuit than the ones I’ve experienced so far,” said Jack Aitken.

“Apart from this change in scenery I’m glad to join the team at another event, it’s always fascinating to sample the car and then watch and learn from everyone during the weekend.”

The British-South Korean racer has gained a vast amount of single-seater experience in his career to date, including making his Formula 1 debut with Williams Racing at the Sakhir Grand Prix back in 2020.

“We are very pleased to welcome Jack Aitken back to Envision Racing for the rookie session in Misano,” said Sylvain Filippi, Managing Director and Chief Technical Officer at Envision Racing.

“Jack provided lots of useful feedback to the team following his tests last season in Berlin and Rome, so we are excited to have him step into the car again.

“This will be our first ever race in Misano, and we are confident Jack will once again provide the team with great feedback following the rookie session.”

Envision Racing have had a productive start to the season, with both Sébastien Buemi and Robin Frijns scoring podiums in Mexico City and Diriyah respectively. Last time out in Tokyo saw Frijns bring home some points in P9 despite having damage, and Buemi cut through from the back of the grid to eventually finish in P13.
