• Envision Racing has inspired more than 20,000 sustainability pledges as influencers encourage fans to take action to reduce their carbon footprint as a legacy for COP26
• Aidan Gallagher – United Nations Environment Goodwill Ambassador, star of Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy and musician – pledged to reduce his meat consumption to more than 7 million fans
• UN Environment Programme Ambassador Antoinette Taus and Tik Tok influencers, the Harfin Family also joined the campaign, promising to shop locally, creating nearly a million views since the campaign launched
Envision Racing launched Sustainable Chain to ensure the legacy of its partnership with COP26 lives far beyond the two-week climate summit. An official partner to COP26, the team represented elite sport at the event and championed the role motorsport can play in the race against climate change.
Engaging audiences from policymakers to children and the community, Envision Racing was the only sports team to exhibit in the blue zone and led a range of initiatives across the event. The Sustainable Chain campaign will now aim to inspire one million pledges as individuals are encouraged to act in reducing their individual carbon footprint. The results so far mean 20,000 trees will be planted in the Amazon.
Envision Racing’s Managing Director and CTO, Sylvain Filippi said: “COP26 represented a huge opportunity to bring everyone together to set bold, ambitious goals that will help us succeed in the race against climate change. What’s become clear is the overwhelming desire from individuals to play their role in carbon reduction targets. Influencers and their followers have kickstarted a sustainable chain that will create a significant legacy from our own presence at COP26.
“Sustainability is in our DNA and we feel it is our role to use the exciting platform of Formula E and the ‘Race Against Climate Change’ sustainability programme to inspire generations to tackle this. We need to ensure we maintain the momentum started by the UK’s presidency, so we can continue to collaborate and realise our world-class innovation to meet carbon ambitions.”

Envision ranked second place on Fortune’s 2021 Change the World list, in recognition of its decarbonisation innovations for solving the world’s toughest sustainability challenges.
