Joel Eriksson joins Envision Racing to complete driver line-up for Season 12
Swedish driver, Joel Eriksson, has secured a full-time seat with Envision Racing, after signing a multi-year deal with the Silverstone-based team. The 27-year-old stepped in for Envision Racing during Season 10 at the Berlin E-Prix and demonstrated his talent and ability instantly, scoring points during his debut weekend for the team.

Eriksson experienced his first taste of Formula E back in 2018 with Envision Racing during the rookie test in Marrakesh – after a successful early career in Formula 4 and Formula 3.
Following the Formula E test, he participated in eight races of Season 7 for a competitor team, stepping up from a reserve level to replace another driver.
Since then, Eriksson has remained part of Formula E and has completed extensive simulator and development work over the past three seasons, meaning he has a strong understanding of the complexities of electric racing and how to maximise performance in the car.

Speaking on his newly signed deal, Joel Eriksson said: “I am delighted to have signed with Envision Racing, it is a huge moment in my career and one that I have been working towards for a while.
I am very thankful to the team for their trust, and I can’t wait to get started for my first full season of Formula E.”
Envision Racing Managing Director & CTO, Sylvain Filippi said: “We are very excited to announce Joel as our newest driver. We have known Joel for a number of years now, going back to his first ever Formula E test with us, and racing for us last season in Berlin.
On both occasions he proved to us how talented he is and adapted very quickly to the Formula E style of racing in Berlin, delivering points on debut.
With Joel’s extensive knowledge and experience working on the simulator with Jaguar, we are confident that he will deliver for us, and we will be doing all we can to help him hit the ground running.”
Franz Jung, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Envision Racing said: “We are very happy and proud to welcome Joel to Envision Racing. Joel impressed us last season in Berlin, and we are looking forward to building on this as he begins his new venture as a full-time driver.”
Eriksson will join former champion Sébastien Buemi to complete the line-up for Envision Racing. Season 12 kicks off with official pre-season testing in Valencia on 27-31 October.
