British driver Ella Lloyd will return to the cockpit with Envision Racing for the upcoming Formula E Rookie Test in Madrid on 22 March, marking her second outing in the team’s GEN3 Evo car.
The 20-year-old – who is part of the McLaren Development Driver Programme – impressed on her debut with the team during the all-women’s test in Valencia in October 2025, where she finished fifth overall. Building on that promising introduction to the team, Lloyd will re-join Envision Racing for the official rookie test during Season 12 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

The rookie test follows Round 6 of the championship, which will be held at the historic Circuit del Jarama – marking the venue’s first time hosting a Formula E race. While the Madrid circuit previously served as a pre-season testing venue during Season 11 due to flooding in Valencia, it has never before staged a championship race.
Ella Lloyd said: “I’m really looking forward to driving the Formula E car again with Envision Racing.
The test last year in Valencia was a fantastic experience and I learnt a great deal from the team. I’m excited to build on that progress and continue developing in Madrid.”

Sylvain Filippi, Managing Director and CTO of Envision Racing, said: “We are delighted to welcome Ella back to the team for the Madrid rookie test.
She demonstrated impressive pace during her first outing in Valencia. This test will be a great opportunity for her to continue that progress and further integrate with the team.”

Envision Racing currently sits fifth in the Teams’ Championship standings following a strong result in Jeddah, where Sébastien Buemi secured a podium finish with second place. Round 6 of the championship will take place on 21 March, ahead of the official rookie test the following day.
