Virgin Racing PREPARE TO ELECTRIFY PARIS

In the first ever back to back race weekend in Formula E history, the team arrive in The City of Light just days after the Monaco ePrix.  The team have regrouped from the race in Monaco and are now fully focused on Paris, with the drivers flying straight to Satory for simulator sessions in preparation for Saturday’s race.

The Paris ePrix consists of 49 laps of the 14 turn 1.93km circuit around Les Invalides.  The drivers will reach a top speed of 190 km/h at turn 1 and a minimum speed of 40km/h at turn 7.

Last year’s Paris ePrix saw good results for the team with a podium finish and pole position.  The team will be looking for a podium finish again this year in a race that will certainly draw in a huge number of fans.  The drivers will also be taking part in extra media events such as an additional autograph session on Friday due to the sell-out crowds last year.

The Paris ePrix is a home race for DS who welcome everyone to their stand in the eVillage which will showcase the DS E-Tense, DSV-02 Formula E and DS 7 CROSSBACK. DS have also organised a parade through the streets of Paris on Wednesday 17th May from 14:00 – 15:30 local time.

Speaking ahead of the Paris ePrix, Sam Bird commented “It was good to get fastest lap in Monaco but it should have been a lot better. It’s important for us not to dwell on this result and move on to the next race. I had pole position in Paris last year and if everything comes together we’ll get on the podium”.

Jose Maria Lopez said “We are due a good result.  We have been preparing hard for the Paris ePrix and are constantly learning as a team.  I’m looking forward to my first Formula E race in Paris and hope we can get some good points”.

Alex Tai commented “The team are preparing hard for the Paris ePrix. It’s great for fans that we have two races so close to each other as it keeps the momentum of the series going.  It’s also an opportunity for the team to get the points we are capable of so close after a frustrating result in Monaco.”

Xavier Mestelan Pinon added “Naturally, it is particularly exciting for the whole DS team to be able to showcase our know-how and technology in the heart of Paris, the brand’s birthplace. Although this race has particular significance, our rigorous, determined approach to preparations is the same as for the other races. And I can say we are more than ever ready to achieve a good result with our DSV-02 Formula E.”
