Envision Energy and Envision Racing, in partnership with EARTHDAY.ORG, have launched a new CSR initiative as part of their Sustainable Chain programme, combining fan engagement with meaningful climate action. The initiative will support nutrition, sanitation, and education for 18,000 women and 10,000 families.
London, [7 APRIL, 2026] – Envision Racing, Formula E team, has announced a new partnership with Envision Energy India and EARTHDAY.ORG, with a goal of planting 500,000 mangrove trees over the next five years in the Indian Sundarbans region.

The partnership forms part of the team’s Sustainable Chain programme, a Race Against Climate Change™ initiative, which pairs fan engagement with climate action. Fans are encouraged to make a pledge to reduce their carbon emissions which enables the team to commit to ground-breaking restoration projects.
Through this new initiative, Envision Racing will support Envision Energy India and EARTHDAY.ORG in helping to restore degraded areas of the Sundarbans Mangrove Forest in West Bengal, India while helping communities living on the frontline of the climate crisis.
Under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) mandate, this major mangrove sapling plantation drive will improve the living standards of 18,000 women and 10,000 families over a five-year programme through targeted health, nutrition, sanitation and education initiatives.
The project builds on the team’s existing restoration work; the Sustainable Chain has already supported the planting of more than 250,000 mangrove trees in Madagascar.

Sylvain Filippi, Managing Director and CTO of Envision Racing, said:
“We are proud to support Envision Energy India and EARTHDAY.ORG with this incredible initiative. Our goal is to help drive direct action and to stimulate awareness and understanding of the challenges that this vibrant region faces. Through the Formula E platform, we can help bring the Sundarbans stories to a huge global audience.”
RPV Prasad, CEO of Envision Energy India, said:
“Mangrove restoration represents the kind of nature-based climate solution that can deliver impact at scale. By combining ecosystem restoration with public engagement through Envision Racing’s Sustainable Chain initiative, we have an opportunity to mobilise people around the world while supporting our local communities most affected by climate change. Partnerships like this demonstrate how technology, business and global audiences can work together to accelerate climate action with purpose.
Through Sustainable Chain, fans are invited to make a personal pledge to reduce their carbon footprint – such as reducing single-use plastics, choosing more sustainable travel or lowering household energy consumption – and invite others to do the same.

The programme focuses on the power of collective action to create meaningful change. Participants who join the Sustainable Chain receive updates on the restoration projects and environmental impact generated through the programme, alongside exclusive content from the team throughout the season.
The initiative reflects Envision Racing’s wider commitment to using its platform in the Formula E FIA World Championship to promote climate awareness and support tangible environmental action.
Located across India and Bangladesh, the Sundarbans is the world’s largest mangrove forest and one of the region’s most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change, including rising sea levels, coastal erosion and increasingly severe storms and cyclones. Local communities are suffering through reduced access to freshwater sources, nutrition and sanitation, as well as access to schools and employment.
Mangrove ecosystems play a critical role in protecting coastal communities and capturing carbon. They can store up to four times more carbon than terrestrial forests while also providing natural protection against the effects of climate change. Mangrove planting also provides an economic opportunity, stabilising incomes particularly for widows facing extreme economic and social vulnerability.
