After an electrifying season opener in Sao Paulo, the Formula E World Championship heads to the heart of Mexico for one of the most iconic events on the calendar.
Envision Racing head to Mexico City with confidence to build on a strong start to Season 12, following a double-points finish in Brazil for drivers Sebastien Bumi and Joel Eriksson.
Mexico City plays host to Formula E for the ninth time, with racing taking place at the legendary Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. The circuit is unique on the calendar, combining permanent track sections with the famous stadium complex, creating an electric atmosphere for fans and drivers alike.
The circuit has delivered success to Envision Racing in recent seasons, with Buemi stepping onto the second step of the podium in Season 10. For new team-mate Joel Eriksson, it will be his first race in Mexico City, after spending recent seasons as a reserve driver, but following an impressive debut last month, the Swedish driver will be aiming to build on his progress.
THE CIRCUIT
The circuit features 16 turns and is situated over 2,200 metres above sea level, making it the highest-altitude race of the season. This gives teams and drivers even more to prepare for; pushing energy management, braking performance, and cooling systems to the limit. The lap begins with a fast run through the opening corners before diving into the iconic Foro Sol stadium, where the roar of the crowd surrounds the cars as they dance through the tight, technical section.

Sebastien Buemi: P17
Last season was a difficult race for Envision Racing, Buemi performed very well in qualifying, initially making it through to the duels with a P3 finish in his group, however he was then handed a technical infringement penalty which was imposed on all Jaguar powertrain cars.
Buemi gave it his all during the race, in which he set the fastest lap in whilst climbing up to P13 from the back of the grid – only to receive another penalty for being unable to use all of his Attack Mode allocation.
Strong pace was certainly demonstrated, giving Buemi and the rest of the Envision Racing squad lots of motivation to bounce back in Season 12.
