Envision Racing are delighted to announce that British racing driver Zak O’Sullivan will represent the team in Saudi Arabia next month for the official Rookie Session, as part of a new role that will also see him become a simulator driver.
The 40-minute session in Jeddah, which will take place in the build-up to Rounds 3 & 4 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, will be O’Sullivan’s first taste of Formula E machinery.
“I’m very excited to be going to Jeddah to test a Formula E car for the first time,” O’Sullivan said. “It is going to be a new challenge for me.
“The session itself will provide a good opportunity for me to learn the car and I will also be making sure I spend as much time with the team as possible across the race week, so I absorb as much as I can.”
At just 19 years old, O’Sullivan boasts an impressive racing CV to date – with numerous wins in karting before stepping up into single-seater racing.
In 2020 the Brit narrowly missed out on the British Formula 4 title, finishing second overall, before going onto win the GB3 Championship the following year.
Two seasons of FIA Formula 3 followed and, after stepping onto the podium twice in his rookie season in 2022, he became a serious title contender the following year – taking four wins and ultimately clinching the runner-up spot in the championship.
More recently, O’Sullivan made the step up to FIA Formula 2 for 2024 and took a sensational win in Monaco, before stepping onto the top step of the podium once again in Spa-Francorchamps.
However, he was ultimately unable to complete the full season due to funding obstacles.
O’Sullivan has recently announced he will be competing in the highly competitive Japanese Super Formula championship for the 2025 season.

The FP0 test session will take place on Wednesday 13 February and will be the first time Formula E cars take on the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, ahead of the debut double-header race of the current season of the world championship.
Rounds 3 & 4 of Season 11 are due to take place on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 February respectively.
